Beginning with Issue 13 of The American Poetry Journal (APJ), the journal will be an online-only publication.  

 

Beginning May 2019, APJ will be on hiatus.  Our last bi-annual was our December 2018 Issue 17.  Every issue expressed the idea that just like an open circle or enso (like the one in our logo), creativity should not be "contained within itself" but kindly open out in some way, always. 

 

And in September 2017 and March 2018, APJ published book reviews of exceptional poetry books---full-length or chap with any publication date---that hadn't received their fair share of online publicity, promotion, or acclaim whether in mainstream or indie review venues, including Amazon and Goodreads. As of July 13, 2018, APJ is not accepting book review queries, nor will it publish any more reviews.  Sorry for any inconvenience, but please enjoy our 4 archived reviews on our website.

 

Our December 2018 issue featured APJ Faves, favorite staff-pick books in which publishers/presses offered a 20% off discount to APJ readers.
